Day 1 -  Bishkek - Issyk-Kul Lake - Cholpon-Ata - Aurora

Today you will be met at 8.30am in Bishkek, the bustling capital of Kyrgyzstan, and driven along the northern shores of LAKE ISSYK-KUL to CHOLPON-ATA. En route we will visit 11th-century BURANA TOWER, an ancient Silk Route staging post, and the prehistoric PETROGLYPHS at Cholpon-Ata. Following a tour of the Issyk-Kul museum you will be taken for a lunch of traditional Kyrgyz dishes in Cholpon-Ata. After lunch you will be transferred to the jetty, where a pleasure boat will be waiting to take you on a 2 hour cruise along the lakeshore to the AURORA health spa and resort. Here, after dinner, your evening is at leisure for relaxation and enjoyment of Issyk-Kul's sandy beaches.

 

 

Day 2 -  Karakol - Djety-Oguz

After breakfast you will be collected and transferred to KARAKOL through the rural villages of Eastern Issyk-Kul. On arrival in this picturesque town surrounded by mountains, you will be taken for lunch, followed by a short city-tour. Highlights include the ORTHODOX HOLY TRINITY CHURCH, CHINESE MOSQUE and PRZHEVALSKY MEMORIAL (erected in honour of one of the Tien-Shan's greatest explorers). Then your adventure brings you to spectacular DJETY-OGUZ, the famous 'Valley of Seven Bulls'. After a leisure to admire the glowing red, sandy cliffs you will be driven back to Karakol and overnight in Turkestan Yurt Camp.

 

 

Day 3 -  Bishkek.

 

Today you must bid farewell to this isolated corner of Eastern Kyrgyzstan. A comfortable car or private minibus (depending on group size) will be waiting to bring you back to BISHKEK. This time you will be driven along Issyk Kul's wild SOUTHERN SHORES, completing your circumnavigation of the second largest alpine lake in the world. The road hugs the water's edge and winds through remote Kyrgyz villages of wooden chocolate-box cottages, against an arresting backdrop of the majestic Central Tien Shan mountains. You will stop on the lake shore for lunch, swimming and rest. Then your journey will continue via BOOM GORGE with time to stop and take photographs. On arrival in Bishkek you will be dropped off at any city location of your choosing, together with plenty of spectacular memories.
